El Paso's Franklin Mountains State Park is the largest urban park in Texas. In the photo above two people are about to set out on a mountain bike ride on the Old Tin Mine Hike and Bike Trail.

This week's photo comes from the collection of West Texas photos which includes scenes from areas east of El Paso. The Salt Flat is a dry lake bed that sits right next to the tall mountains of the Guadalupe Mountains National Park.
Photo of the Week - Southwest University Park
Baseball season is behind us, but photos of El Paso's new ballpark are always in season. The photo above shows the view of Southwest University Park from the 3rd base seats. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to shoot the ballpark shortly after construction was completed.
For those interested in the technical details, this photo was taken with a Nikon d800 behind a 24mm PC-E lens. This specialized lens made it possible to capture the perspective that includes the steps and field while keeping the camera level.
